Brussels Airport Lounges: Complete Guide to Every Lounge at BRU (2026)

Brussels Airport Lounges: Complete Guide to Every Lounge at BRU (2026)

The cheapest lounge at Brussels Airport costs €45, the most expensive €75 — yet the best lounge I visited last year was completely free. That sounds counterintuitive until you realise nine out of ten Belgian travellers pay for lounge access whilst already being entitled to it through their credit card, frequent flyer status or business class ticket. The difference between spending €500/year on lounge fees or strategically accessing them for free comes down to five minutes of preparation.

This guide doesn't exist to sell you a Priority Pass or promote Brussels Airlines. What you'll get here is a complete overview of every operational lounge at BRU, with concrete access methods (including which credit cards work), current walk-in prices, and — importantly — an honest assessment of which lounges are worth those 3 hours before your intercontinental flight and which ones you're better off skipping. No Instagram filters, no sponsored superlatives.

Brussels Airport now has a decent selection of lounges. Some are absolutely worth it, others are disappointing. I've visited them all and share my honest experiences here, including how to get free access.

All Lounges at Brussels Airport in 2026: The Overview

Let me start with a reality check: Brussels Airport is no Dubai or Singapore. We don't have spectacular lounges with swimming pools or bedrooms here. But what we do have is solid and, with the right expectations, perfectly fine. The airport currently has five publicly accessible lounges, spread across the two piers.

Most travellers only know The Loft, because it's accessible with Priority Pass. But there's more. The Diamond Lounge offers a more exclusive experience, the 51 Lounge is aimed at business travellers in a hurry, and the Star Alliance Lounge is finally a serious option for frequent flyers again after the 2025 renovation.

What strikes me: the quality varies enormously depending on the time of day. Early in the morning the lounges are quiet and pleasant. Around 10 o'clock, when the big wave of flights to Southern Europe departs, it gets busy everywhere. My tip: plan your lounge visit around those peak moments.

The Loft (Pier A & Pier B): The Priority Pass Option

The Loft is by far the most visited lounge at BRU, simply because it's the only one that accepts Priority Pass. There are two locations: one on Pier A (non-Schengen) and one on Pier B (Schengen). I have a clear preference for Pier A.

The Loft. Pier A (Non-Schengen)

Location Pier A, level 1 (after passport control)

Which lounge for your flight?

  • Schengen flights (Amsterdam, Madrid, Rome, Barcelona, etc.): Pier A → choose The Loft (larger, better food than Plaza).
  • Non-Schengen flights (USA, UK, Dubai, Bangkok, etc.): Pier B → Diamond Lounge (less crowded, better drinks).
  • Early morning (before 7am): Diamond Lounge opens at 5am — perfect for early flights.
  • With children: Plaza Premium has a kid-friendly corner; The Loft is quieter but less child-oriented.

Frequently asked questions

How often can I enter free with Priority Pass?

Unlimited for the primary cardholder + 2 guests per visit (free). Extra guests above 2: $35/person, but rarely needed.

Does Priority Pass work for departure AND arrival?

At BRU: departure only. Some lounges at other airports offer arrival lounges (e.g. Heathrow).

What if the lounge is full?

The lounge can refuse entry at overcapacity. At BRU this rarely happens — sometimes at The Loft on Friday evenings. Diamond Lounge is almost always accessible.

How early before flight can I enter?

No official limit but most lounges advise max 3h ahead. In case of delays you can of course wait.

No access via Diamond Lounge if I only fly Schengen?

Indeed — Diamond Lounge is located after passport control for non-Schengen. Schengen flights = stay in The Loft (Pier A).

What about showers?

Diamond Lounge and Plaza both have showers (free for Priority Pass holders). The Loft does NOT have showers.
